The Giant Ants are Attacking

Remember the SciFi movies of the fifties?  Giant ants were only one of a whole host of antagonists that came into being because of the radioactive fallout that Hollywood portrayed to be the cause of the deaths of so many Americans.  Things didn’t work out the way predicted, well, increased cancer is a known effect of the higher background radiation; but very soon we will have newer, more realistic, SciFi horrors that threaten our existence.

  GMO’s, Genetically Modified Organisms.  It is frightening how these human made plants and animals have infested our society, no, our world.  There has NEVER been any long term testing of any GMO on humans, monkeys, or rats.  EVER.  They are tested to confirm that the organism that they have produced does not, as a byproduct of the genetic combinant process, produce any known toxins.  But that organism is never tested to verify that nothing accumulates in the system, or that new enzymes are created, or any long term problem may occur. 

 Very recently, Princeton University published a study on GMO’s in corn.  They took a somewhat large number of test subjects and fed them GMO corn products.  Then they later tested the intestinal bacteria within each of them.  The surprising result was that a large percentage of the subjects had their internal bacteria recombine with DNA found in the GMO corn.  The shocking finding was that all the subjects had DNA from GMO soy that they had eaten at one time or another in the past.  When the big agribusinesses lobbied for approval of GMO’s, they promised that this WOULD NEVER HAPPEN!

 Now come the Giant Ants.  We can’t stop the contamination of our food supply with GMO plants.  3 years ago specialists told us that there would not be any non-GMO corn available because of the cross contamination by the year 2015.  In the high mountains of Mexico, the GMO corn has taken over the native corn and destroyed a way of life for the people there.  All of this means that soon, the bacteria that live within us and are necessary for our existence may begin to manufacture insecticides, or enzymes that actually destroy other living organisms, or produce herbicide properties, and who knows, maybe even giant ants.
